Story Time from Afghanistan
Jared forwarded these links to me and it's a really gripping story about a medic working over in Afghanistan. He was off-duty when he got a guy banging on his door with a little (Afghanistinanni) goatherder who had a goat step on a 20 year old landmine. This is his firsthand account. This is a follow up news article. It'll take a minute to read the first hand, but it's worth your time.

that's a crazy A story. what an insane moment to be thrown into, being the only remotely capable of saving a child's life. loved how he added some good funny wit.
favorite lines: (When other medic arrived) "I refrained from french kissing him." HAHAHAHA!
