Is It Just Me?

I was at the market (that's for you, Dave) yesterday waiting to buy my groceries and several of the tabloids were screaming about Jessica Simpson and how unfair it is that people are so critical of her body. But then I started thinking, if the only thing that really makes her famous is the fact that she's super hot (or can be), then isn't it only fair that people can be allowed to criticize her because she's falling short of that? I mean, she's really not selling anything else besides her sexuality. She was never a talented musical artist, and she's an even worse actress. If her only assets are her...assets, then it seems like it's her own fault for not developing more of her persona to rely upon in the first place.
If she were an athlete getting paid to hit home runs, but all she does is strike out, no one is going to even bat an eye at the fact that people are going to be critical of her. Likewise, if she's getting paid to be super hot, we can't all of the sudden throw a fit because someone is upset that she's not pulling through. There are a lot of gross men that are depending on her to come through for them. It's not fair to objectify yourself, and then decry others because they are holding you to the standards that you set for youself from the outset. Just thinking aloud...

You, Ralph, and I are in complete agreement. Shut your pie-hole -- that will probably help your career and your weight problem.

its all just a ploy. she ballooned up on purpose and made it look worse by wearing extremely unflattering jeans. why? because then she can loose all the weight (even though its not as much weight as we think) and then go on some tour talking about her weight loss and everyone will be gawking over how good she looks and she will be right back in the spotlight...and on oprah.

Dear Charlotte,

Because your brand of feminism that has been shoved on me that emphasizes freedom of expression which normally involves heightened sexuality, I've developed a severe hunger for feasting my eyes on the unrealistic and outrageous proportions supplied to me now only by hard core pornography. My new-found criteria upon which I judge women have become grossly exaggerated to the point where I expect unrealistic physical requirements from women. Therefore, I want Ms. Simpson to retain her size DD boobs, but still come in under 110 lbs, with a 26" waist.

The problem with America is that the average size is even above 8 to begin with. Let's talk when it comes down to a much more palatable 2.

Honestly though...Ms. Simpson's current predicament is a product of the outrageous standards she set for herself from the beginning. She chose for herself to build her identity as a ditzy blonde with the nice rack of lamb.

In any case...wasn't it you who was telling me recently that you weren't going for the Beyonce look in the condescending tone? The kind of tone that suggested that her Hollywood world plus-sized body (beautiful-attractive sized normal world body) was not up to par with your own standards?

Facial.

Kisses,

Me

Such a debater you are. How would a little redhead with no chest at all and a 25" waist look with Beyonce's badonk?! That's just crazy talk. Why do I have to want to be thick to defend those who are? My desire for "thin" is purely motivated by my desire to run super fast and also to be able to maintain my current energy levels.
I'm mostly lying right now.
